The Miss Black USA Pageant is a community-driven organization and is committed to addressing health and education, two leading social issues in the African American community. The winners of the official "Miss Black USA" state pageants will use her civic platform to promote awareness of these issues during her reign.
To advance to this the 2010 Miss Black USA Pageant as a representative from New York, you must first obtain a local and state delegate title. The winner of the 2009 Miss Black Manhattan Pageant (September 2009) automatically earns a chance to compete in the Miss Black NY USA competition to be held in October 2009.
The Miss Black Manhattan Organization is directed by Christina A. Joseph, an experienced event specialist and pageant professional who also serves as co-director for three Miss America Organization (MAO) Preliminaries in the NYC area. Ms. Joseph has held the titles of Miss Greater Niagara 2007 (MAO), Miss Earth East Coast 2008 and Miss Barbados Heritage 2009.
